Ancash has caught the eye of several Spanish publications, which emphasize the majesty of the Cordillera Blanca (White Mountain Range), home to the impressive Huascaran, Peru's highest mountain. Huascaran National Park, where this iconic peak is located, is a UNESCO-recognized biodiversity gem and a paradise for climbing and hiking enthusiasts.

The region is the birthplace of the ancient Chavin culture and home to the Chavin de Huantar Archaeological Monument, one of the most iconic structures of ancient Peru.
