THE CHILEAN FACTOR
Because of its close geographical location, logistical infrastructure, and technological compatibility with companies involved in supplying products and services, particularly in the food industry, Chile stands out as a crucial trading ally for Peru.
When it comes to the most sought-after products, flexible plastic packaging takes the lead at 30%, followed by cardboard and paper containers catering to the agribusiness and food industry needs at 15%, followed by crates, and lastly, plastic cages at 12%.
It's notable that by 2023, Chile is set to become the second-largest recipient of Peruvian packaged exports globally, totaling USD 90 million.
