All Peruvians, let’s celebrate! The World Travel Awards (WTA) South America 2023 came to an end, and our country won four incredible awards that highlight our history, landscapes, gastronomy and cultural traditions. Unlike 2022, the country achieved a new recognition, which reaffirms our positioning as the ideal destination to visit in South America. The awards received by our country were:

- South America's Leading Cultural Destination
- South America's Leading Destination
- South America's Leading Tourist Attraction: Machupicchu
This is the sixth time that our country has achieved this important recognition for the Historic Sanctuary of Machupicchu, and the first time as a leading destination in South America. More than just an award, this contest is also a reflection of how great our country is, and that Peruvians, united, can achieve great goals. Let's continue to proudly spread Peru and its majestic culture!
Peruvian gastronomy for export
By any measure, our culinary culture is one of the best in the world. In addition to this new recognition at the WTAs, on June 25, during The World's 50 Best Restaurants ceremony, the Central restaurant was chosen as the most important restaurant on the planet. Peru's gastronomic experience continues to surprise international diners with its immense variety, history and local ingredients.
