Everyone started talking about it! Due to this important recognition, Machupicchu's visits took off, surpassing the record of 4 000 visits per day. As a result, more than one and a half million visits per year were reported. All this meant more work for Peruvians and especially, for people from Cusco.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, Machupicchu was severely affected. However, since February 2021, when it reopened its doors to the public, it has been progressively recovering its important position as the main tourist attraction of our country.
Undoubtedly, because of the majesty of an ancestral culture, the enigma of its construction, its impressive landscape, the rich biodiversity and its mysterious location, Machupicchu is and will always be one of the greatest Peruvian treasures for the world.
